CARTER D. WOMACK AND LEADERSHIP AT ITS BEST MAKE A BOLD MOVE TO IMPACT THE LIVES OF YOUNG MEN IN ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOLS

Columbus, Ohio, March 1, 2014 – Carter D. Womack, President and CEO of Leadership At Its Best, LLC, (LAIB) announced today the 2014 winter and spring BOLD Conference schedule. BOLD is an educational, social, life skill development, self awareness program which addresses the concerns of young African-American males in grades 3 through 12. Womack’s announcement came on the heels of the day that the President of the United States, Barack Obama, announced his “Am I My Brothers Keepers Program“. President Obama’s program will focus on the development of Black and Brown boys and young men.

Appropriately named BOLD, Black-male Orientation to Leadership Development, the program is delivered to elementary, middle and high school students throughout the school year, and is designed to offer an awareness of the importance of education, positive African-American leadership, understanding the importance of community and having a strong positive male self image.

BOLD Conferences 2014 Schedule for 100-150 young men,  will be held in  Chicago, IL Saturday  March 29, 2014 as a part of the 20th Anniversary Black Women’s Expo,  Saturday April 12, 2014 in Columbus, Ohio,  Saturday April 26, 2014 Atlanta, GA at Westwood College, Saturday, May 3, 2014, Saginaw, MI in partnership with Man About Change, and Saturday, May 10, 2014 in Clarksdale, MS, the first BOLD Conference named after a person “The Marco W McMillan BOLD Conference.” The conference will train 33 African-American boys in the home town of the slain 33 year old mayoral candidate who was murdered on February 26, 2013. Additional conference and even a summer camp will be announced later. The conferences are open to young men ages 13-19 who are enrolled in middle and or high school.

BOLD workshops are conducted by members of Leadership At Its Best with invited business leaders, educational experts, and social service agency representatives share their knowledge with the students.  Through participation in BOLD programs with courses in self image, bullying and conflict management, career education, wealth building and money management and etiquette, students develop an awareness of the skills necessary to apply to college or ready themselves for the work world.  The programs also teach the students to become ready to assume leadership responsibilities at their schools, in their communities, their youth organizations, and churches. These young men become Peer-Educators and roles models for younger boys in their families and communities.

The organization also sponsors; one day BOLD Conferences, weeklong BOLD Summer Camps and BOLD College Tours with the theme “SEEING is BELIVING”

Carter D Womack founder and president states “We want to engage ouryoung men and teach them how to Make Right Choices, Set High Expectations and Execute a Plan to Achieve or Exceed their Expectations which they set for themselves.” He continues “we want them to learn, feel, embrace and shout out loud that they are BOLD and Born to WIN, I know that if we can get them to Think, Act and Perform like WINNERS, then we as Americans will WIN!”

 Leadership At Its Best offers its leadership training programs in the area of Student Leadership and Development for Middle and High School Student Government and class officers. LAIB also offer Leadership and Life Skills training programs for University and College organizations. Special designed programs are also offered to African-American males in universities and colleges to address their retention, success and graduation rates.
